From 40 year old vines in Chavannay, in the lieu dit Ribaudie.
WOW good. A baby cote rotie, without the appellation…..incredibly intense violet character, super long and fine, minerally. Yummo
Here is Josh Raynolds’ review :
“(raised in barriques, none of them new) Brilliant violet. Fresh red and dark berries, licorice, candied flowers, vanilla and smoky minerals. Lively and focused on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that show a delicate touch and a complementary hint of peppery spices. Becomes sweeter and deeper with aeration and finishes spicy and very long, gentle tannins adding shape and grip.” 91-92 points
