Classic elegance, every year. Bravo.
From a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 6% Mourvedre, 4% other. In my opinion, this is the single best buy in the appellation, every single year. The house emphasis on elegance and harmony above all else is achieved with a regularity that is incredible. It seems as though this is the best rendition since the 2010, and is built in such a succulent, harmonious way that it will provide pleasure young and old. Like I say every year, get 6btls-a case of this and thank me later, as the track record for ageing here is rock solid. Quite simply as good as it gets!!!
“Vivid ruby. Heady, mineral-laced red berry preserve, spicecake and floral aromas are complicated by suggestions of dusty minerals and pungent herbs. Lively, sharply focused raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become deeper and sweeter with air while picking up a musky licorice nuance. Shows impressive energy and thrust on the sweet, red-fruit-dominated finish, which is framed by supple, slow-building tannins.” 91-93 points Josh Raynolds
