In the “luxury cuvée” sweepstakes, it doesn’t get any better than this. This year’s Papet (there was not a Papet produced in 2014) resumes the incredible track record for this wine, one of the best bottlings from any address in the appellation. Once you factor in the price tag, this is untouchable. I only wish I got more……A blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre.
“Deep ruby. Pungent aromas of ripe red fruit, licorice, potpourri and black cardamom carry a bright mineral overtone. Pliant, sweet and expansive on the palate, offering concentrated raspberry and cherry liqueur flavors, a hint of spicecake and impressive back-end energy. Fine-grained tannins add shape and gentle grip to an extremely long, floral- and spice-driven finish.” 93-95 points Josh Raynolds
