I met and tasted with Clemens Busch at the Mainzer Weinbörse in April, and this wine absolutely rocked my world. Positively electric with true kabinett must weight and over 10g/L of acidity, this is an absolutely knockout example of the steep Marienburg, from some of the first grapes harvested at the top of the hill. In Martin Zwick’s 2015 Berlin Kabinett Cup, this wine finished in 11th place between Willi Schaefer’s Himmelreich and Hanno Zilliken’s Rausch, to give you an idea of its qualitative company. Trust me when I say that this is an exceptional example of Kabinett in Clemens’ uber pure and vibrant style, so very chock full of substance and bracing, weightless charm. Get a bunch, and thank me later!!!!
