Once again, I am befuddled and grateful that I have such a large allocation of this rarity, the last Rully rouge wine that Vincent presents in tasting, a wine that routinely rings my bell as one of the finest made in all of the Côte Chalonnaise. I have started a small fan club for this wine, I think, people taking my cues over the past two vintages, and liking what they have found….From 65 year old vines in one of Rully’s finest sites, my note: “Class! This is at once quite powerful in pure dark fruits and savory flavors, yet mineral and fine. So complete and classy…”. Once again my friends, take my advice, get 6-12 of these, and thank me later. Chapeau Vincent!!
“A slightly more subtle but hardly invisible lashing of oak still easily allows the spicy combination of earth, red pinot, dark currant and game aromas to shine. There is fine richness but also very good delineation to the medium-bodied flavors that display a hint of minerality on the youthfully austere, balanced and impressively persistent finish. 90/2020+”
