This is flat out stunning in an altogether other register of delicacy, red fruited pallor, and intense minerality. This one blew my mind for its delicacy and complexity. A little star given here.
“As Talmettes lies on the Pernand side of the village, it was away from the path of the hail at the end of June and was unaffected by the storm. The resulting wine is really exceptional chez Bize in 2014, offering up a superb and very red fruity nose of cherries, currants, stony soil tones, coffee, Savigny spices, woodsmoke and hints of the sous bois that will come as the wine matures. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely transparent in personality, with a fine core, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and quite stony finish. This will want a solid decade in the cellar to really start to stir, but it will be a fine bottle once it has blossomed. 2024-2060. 92.” John Gilman
