2014 Marchand Tawse Corton Grand cru

2014 Marchand Tawse Corton Grand cru

Pascal’s Corton has changed sources over the years, however, he continues to hit it out of the park. This is a wine that I have supported in every vintage offered, as it is simply off the charts in value allied to substance. The ’14 is a WOW wine once again, an untouchable value in current Burgundy pricing. You’ve been given the heads up…..

“Full, bright ruby-red. Liqueur-like kirsch and cassis aromas are complicated by mint, licorice and peppery wild herbs. The pepper and herbs carry through on the slightly wild but youthfully imploded palate, where a deep blackberry flavor is further lifted by a minty quality. Marchand believes this wine is a bit riper than the 2013 version; it certainly has potentially explosive fruit.” 91-94 Steve Tanzer

“This is really quite aromatically attractive with its cool and pure nose of very fresh red berries, earth, game, spice and soft floral hints. There is once again excellent volume and mid-palate concentration to the broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in a moderately austere and very firmly structured finish that exhibits terrific length. This is very Corton in basic character and is going to require a long snooze in a cool cellar. (92-94)/2029+” Allan Meadows
