Aromatically, this smells like the fresh, treble, and minerally focused Lavaut that are the hallmarks of the site. Everything is built around this driving mineral core, with far more airy black fruit sensibilities. This is an absolute classic to my taste. A little star here. Fwiw, from vines aged 66 years, and yields a paltry 28hl/ha.
“(from a .3 ha parcel of vines planted in 1943). A discreet touch of wood surrounds the overtly sauvage-inflected dark berry fruit and violet aromas. I like the sleek and focused character of the mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess evident muscle before culminating in a similar but more complex finale. Note that moderate patience will be required as this is firmly structured. (89-92)/2024+” Allan Meadows
