From some of the highest vines in Vosne Romanée from above the 1er cru portion of Beaumonts up against the beginnings of the forest. From a wee .365 hectare parcel terraced and planted in 1988, a serious serious undertaking. This has gorgeous high toned red fruited aromatics, upper slope spice and treble par excellence. In the mouth, there is a light sense of austerity that i’m not sure if it is just stoniness or light tannin. However, I have zero doubt that this will soften and integrate over time to prove to be a gorgeous upper slope example. My first year getting this one…..
“An exceptionally pretty nose combines notes of softly spicy red berry fruit and discreet floral nuances. There is good volume and richness to the utterly delicious and attractively textured flavors that retain good detail on the refreshing finish where a hint of bitter cherry adds lift.
