Once again, my chou-chou is wearing its charms so very well; it got a little star and a smiley face in my tasting notes. There are but four barrels this year due to the slings and arrows of outrageous weather fortune that befell the Cotes de Beaune, but what made the cut is terrific. This is full of savory depth, finesse, and charm that one rarely encounters in the oft-austere climats of Beaune. As I said last year, buy 6 bottles to a case of this one and thank me later. This is a testament to their impeccable biodynamic vineyard care that a wine so very lovely could come from such a challenging season.
