The monopole 1er cru from the within the Chateau’s walled Clos, this is the middle ground of the Goldilocks golden rule, not too high, not too low. It has more impressive fruit density allied to matière (substance) than the other two red 1ers. About as good as it gets in Chassagne rouge, a 6pk-case buy no brainer. To follow its evolution will be a delight.
“(a monopole of the Domaine). The wood treatment is notably more subtle if not invisible and easily allows the brooding nose of mostly dark berries, earth, floral and Asian-tea aromas to be appreciated. There is fine intensity, size, weight and punch to the attractively textured and delineated medium-bodied flavors that possess very fine depth and outstanding length. This is simply terrific and highly recommended. (90-93)/2021+” Allan Meadows
