This was one of my unexpected “wow” moments when tasting in November ’12 chez Lafarge. It has a purity and elegance that was pure charm, which captured the tender freshness and prettiness of the ’11 vintage wonderfully. Under the radar in the Lafarge range, due to no specific lieu-dit vineyard being written on the label….
Here is the Burghound review:
“(in 2011 this is 100% from Pitures). An exuberantly fresh, expressive and relatively high-toned extract of red pinot fruit notes coupled with a beautiful range of spice elements, earth, stone and floral hints. There is a cool, intense and focused quality to the gorgeously mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that exhibit an impeccably well-balanced finish that is supported by firm but refined tannins. This too is a really lovely combination of power and finesse. (91-93)/2021+”
Wine arrives in early winter ’13. 30% deposit to confirm, balance due prior to the wines’ departure from Volnay.
